What we found and what we did

The homeowner reported a leak at a pipe boot. The crew removed the shingles around two plumbing vents, replaced the decking around them, installed new pipe flashings, and shingled the area back in with Owens Corning Duration shingles in Driftwood to match the roof.

Why pipe boots leak

A pipe boot seals a plumbing vent where it passes through the roof. The rubber collar dries out and cracks with sun and age, and water follows the pipe into the attic and ceiling. Replacing the boot, and any soft decking around it, stops the leak at its source. See roof repair in Dublin.
