What we found and what we did

The homeowner had two skylights. One was leaking, and both had problems with the glass. Because the glass alone is not replaced, the crew replaced the skylights, opening the shingles around each one and flashing and shingling the new units back in.

Why skylights leak

Skylights fail two ways: the seal around the glass breaks down and fogs or leaks, or the flashing where the unit meets the roof wears out. A fogged unit can't be fixed by swapping the glass, so replacement with new flashing is the lasting fix. See our skylight service.
