Ridge cap and roof vent repair in Worthington

A completed Roof Revivers ridge cap and vent repair, shown with crew photos.

What we found and what we did

A home inspection on this Worthington house flagged damaged and loose ridge cap shingles on the upper ridges and improperly placed nails with deteriorated sealant next to the bathroom vents. The crew replaced the damaged ridge caps, replaced the old bath vent covers, and re-shingled and sealed around the vent penetrations. No permit was needed.

Why ridge caps and vents matter

Ridge caps cover the very top of the roof and take the most wind. Once they crack or lift, water gets in at the peak. Vent penetrations are the other common weak spot: exposed nails and old sealant around them let water follow the vent into the attic. See roof repair in Worthington.
