Ice dams form when heat escaping from the house melts snow on the roof, which then refreezes at the colder eaves, creating a barrier that traps water. This trapped water can seep under shingles and into the home, causing water damage to ceilings, walls, and insulation, while also potentially compromising the structural integrity of the roof over time.

A winter storm hits and causes snow to accumulate on your roof. When temperatures remain low, the heat from your home causes the snow piled up on the roof to begin to melt on the bottom.

As the water reaches the colder edges of the roof (the eaves), it refreezes, creating a dam of ice at the roof's edge.

What a great company to work with. I wish every company had a team like this and had the same customer service. Didn't matter who I spoke with along the way. They were very communicative and informational. Brandon Marker did a great job helping navigate the insurance claim. From the initial estimate to walking the roof with the adjuster, he did a great job. Responded very timely and professionally. Answered all the question along the way. They had a field supervisor on site during most of the installation and had a quality control person come out after the installation to double-check everything. Shouldn't need a roof, siding or gutters for a long while but I'd use them again in the future.
