How a Roof Inspection Works After a Storm
What happens during a free storm-damage roof inspection, start to finish.
How does a roof inspection work after a storm?
Short answer: A Roof Revivers inspector checks gutters, siding and vents from the ground, then inspects shingles, flashing and ridge caps on the roof, photographs everything and explains whether you need nothing, a repair or a replacement. It is free, and we work with any insurance adjuster; your policy and adjuster decide coverage.

Step by step
- You call and tell us what happened and what you see.
- Ground check: gutters, downspouts, siding, vents and screens often show hail first.
- On the roof: we look for hail bruising, wind-lifted or creased shingles, missing shingles, damaged flashing and ridge caps.
- Inside, if needed: ceiling stains and attic moisture.
- Photos and explanation: we show you what we found and what is old wear versus new damage.
- Next steps: nothing needed, a repair, or replacement. If it is storm damage, you decide whether to call your insurer, and we can meet any insurance adjuster.
Why inspect before filing?
Knowing what is actually on the roof helps you decide whether to file. Your policy and adjuster decide coverage. If there is an active leak, we can tarp it first. When a storm opens up your roof, the first job is keeping water out. We offer storm tarping to cover damaged areas until a permanent repair or replacement can be made.
