Roof replacement in Benson

What we found and what we did

Our Raleigh team first photographed this Benson roof in mid-May 2026. The old shingles were weathered, with dark streaking across the garage roof. By late May, damaged sections over the garage and the main roof had been covered with tarps to keep water out until the roof could be replaced.

Materials were delivered in early July 2026, and the crew tore the old shingles off down to the roof deck. Damaged deck boards were replaced with new OSB sheathing where needed. The new roof is Owens Corning Oakridge architectural shingles in Onyx Black, with Owens Corning ProEdge hip and ridge caps, Starter Strip Plus starter shingles, and Owens Corning RhinoRoof synthetic underlayment. Owens Corning VentSure ridge vent runs along the ridges, and new Manning Perma-Boot pipe boots, aluminum step flashing and aluminum drip edge finish the penetrations, walls and roof edges. The finished roof was photographed on July 11, 2026.
