Erie Insurance Roof Insurance Claim Help
General steps for a storm-damage roof claim with Erie Insurance, and how a free inspection helps.
How do I file a roof claim with Erie Insurance?
Short answer: Report the damage through your Erie agent or Erie’s claims number on your policy, then an adjuster typically inspects. Roof Revivers gives you a free inspection and photo documentation and works with any insurance adjuster. Erie Insurance and your policy decide what is covered; we are not affiliated with Erie Insurance.

Roof claim steps with Erie Insurance
- Stop more damage. If water is coming in, protect the home; we can tarp an active leak. Keep receipts.
- Get a free inspection. We check the roof, gutters, vents and siding and photograph what we find, so you know whether there is storm damage worth claiming.
- Report the claim. Contact your Erie agent or Erie’s claims number on your policy. Note the date of the storm.
- Adjuster inspection. Erie Insurance will typically send an adjuster or ask for photos. We work with any insurance adjuster and can meet them on site.
- Review the estimate. Read the scope line by line. If damage was missed, ask your insurer how to request a reinspection or supplement.
- Repair or replace. Most replacements take 1–2 days.
Terms worth knowing
- Deductible: what you pay first. Some policies have a separate or percentage-based wind/hail deductible; check your declarations page.
- ACV vs. replacement cost: actual cash value policies subtract depreciation; replacement cost policies may hold back depreciation until the work is done. Your policy says which you have.
- Deadlines: policies set time limits for reporting damage and finishing repairs. Report promptly.
- Matching and code items: how these are handled depends on your policy and state rules; ask your adjuster.

Questions we hear
Will Erie Insurance pay for my roof?
Only your policy and your Erie Insurance adjuster can decide that. Storm damage from wind or hail is often covered by homeowner’s policies, wear and age usually are not. We document what we find so the adjuster has clear evidence.

Yes. We work with any insurance adjuster and can meet them at your home.
Should I get an inspection before I file?
