New Albany homes and roofs

New Albany had just 414 residents in 1980 and 10,825 by 2020 (U.S. Census). Rapid growth began in the 1990s, so most homes were built in the last 30 years, and many of the earliest roofs are now reaching replacement age. Steep pitches and dormers are common, which makes flashing details important.

Weather that wears on New Albany roofs

Central Ohio roofs take freeze-thaw cycles, ice dams along cold eaves, spring hail and summer straight-line winds. When the remnants of Hurricane Ike crossed on September 14, 2008, the National Weather Service measured a 75 mph gust at Port Columbus, a few miles from our Gahanna office.

Permits and HOAs in New Albany

New Albany requires plan review and a building permit for a residential re-roof, and the city has a dedicated Residential Re-Roof Application. Exterior changes can also need Architectural Review Board approval. We handle the paperwork with you.

Expect HOA and city design standards in most New Albany neighborhoods. We help you choose a product and color that fits the guidelines.
