Pataskala is a Licking County city on the eastern edge of the Columbus metro, between Reynoldsburg and Etna. Its current boundaries date to January 1, 1996, when the village of Pataskala merged with Lima Township, so the city mixes a small historic downtown along Main Street with large rural lots and newer subdivisions spreading toward State Route 16 and the I-70 corridor.

That mix shapes the roofs we see: older frame houses near downtown with steeper pitches and several roof layers, farm properties with barns and outbuildings, and newer subdivisions where original builder-grade shingles are aging.
